We came to Fish Gaucho on our last day in Paso Robles. We were looking for somewhere nice and cool to eat and this place did not disappoint. They are mainly a Mexican restaurant which you wouldn't be able to tell by the name. We got sat down right away and brought some chips and waters. I ordered a mango margarita I believe, it was really good. My husband had a cold beer. I order a special combo which consisted in four small tacos and a side order of potatoes with chorizo. It was amazing, finger licking good. I usually never finish my food, but I was scraping the plate. Decor is pretty typical Mexican mixed with nautical theme, very eclectic. The restaurant had great vibes. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to place for Mexican fair I highly recommend.

The service and food was excellent. It's a really cool casual restaurant. Very busy restaurant and the team is up for the challenge. I was really impressed with the quality and flavors of each dish.

There was really only one food option as someone who is both GF and vegetarian, so luckily I was excited about the ingredients in the veggie tacos: broccolini, pico de gallo, asparagus, and more. Personally could have done with fewer fresno chilis, but maybe I just can't handle spice haha. I have celiac disease so I always have to be cautious of anything that could have shared a fryer with gluten-containing items. However, this place keeps their chips safe from contamination and I got to have restaurant chips and salsa for the first time in years, which was really exciting! It being on a more expensive side would keep me from coming here often, even if I lived nearby, but it was great setting for special occasions, like my sibling's graduation dinner. I believe we all found the service helpful and enjoyed our meals

We were in Paso Robles wine tasting and this place was highly recommended for their cocktails, so we stopped by for some HH drinks and a quick bite. You're able to enjoy HH anywhere in the restaurant, but it was pretty busy so we sat at the bar. We tried the Cadillac margarita and mach1 margarita, both so good. The fish tacos and ahi tuna were very fresh and flavorful. The only thing we had that wasn't great was the salsas, those lacked any flavor. Service was fast and friendly. Overall a really nice place. Would recommend if you're in the area and want Mexican food.

Fish Gaucho is good. We arrived in Paso Robles on a Friday afternoon and stopped by Fish Gaucho for lunch at the bar. We ordered the Octo Ceviche and the Surf & Turf "Lunch-Special" Tacos (Fish & Beef). The Octo Ceviche was okay-to-good. Nothing special. It tastes fresh and had a good texture, but was a single-note, in terms of flavor. The ceviche lacked acidity and/or any other flavors to make it stand out. It was "good," but lacked anything to make it noteworthy. The tacos were very good. The fish tacos were succulent and had a great balance of flavors across the fish, red onions and veggies. I'd have it again. The shredded beef tacos were great. The chilis really elevated the tacos, because it provided a great kick. The vibe/atmosphere was really relaxed and a good place to bring friends and family for a nicer Mexican-inspired dinner. Good spot. Friendly service.
